Scholarships & sliding scale
About 60% of our members pay less than the standard rate. Scholarship memberships are funded by supporters and grants — no applications, no income checks, no paperwork theater.

The scholarship cycle
Every Supporter membership and many donations fund a scholarship. That member pays what they can, and the difference is covered.
Last year supporters funded 340 memberships. This year, let's do better.

Before you join
Not at all — most of us started the same way. Every new member gets a safety orientation, and tool certifications are short, hands-on, and free. By your second visit you'll be the one showing someone else around.
Every machine and tool in the shop, all certifications, most intro classes, materials at cost (with member discount), and community events. Membership pays for access and community — not per-hour machine time.
Yes. Pause for up to 3 months at no charge, or cancel with 30 days' notice. We'd rather you leave gracefully and come back than feel locked in.
Guests are welcome on Branch and Canopy plans (2 and 4 passes a month). Guests get a safety quick-check and can make with you — they just can't book machines solo.
We do! Teams and classrooms get group rates, dedicated bench time, and custom programs. Email hello@lighttree.space and we'll build a plan around your group.
